Invest in a storage space.  You want to remove as much clutter as possible.  You want your home to look like it came out of a magazine.  You want the "Awe!" factor. 

Fresh flowers in all spaces to give a clean look. 

Get some Yankee candles like Mom's Apple Pie or Chocolate Chip Cookie to light in the kitchen. 

You want to appeal to all the senses so focus on neutral colors on walls and pop in color with your accessories.

Get rid of any animal smells and/or any other smells that are not appealing to home buyers.  You can accomplish this by replacing carpeting and floorings or getting them professionally cleaned.

Take down any personal items such as family photos and replace them with a painting.  Also remove any knickknacks you may have to eliminate clutter.  Simple is better when selling a home.  When people are walking through your home and see knickknacks, they think "Dust!"
